Town Government
Board of Selectmen
This three-person board is the executive body of the town. They serve as the chief goal-setting, planning and policy making agency of the town. The Board hires and supervises the Town Administrator, who administers the day-to-day affairs of the town and implements the Board's plans and policies. The Board also serves as the primary licensing authority for the town and is the permitting authority for all commercial development plans. The Selectmen appoint members to twenty town boards, commissions and committees under their supervision, such as the Business Revitalization Committee, the Council on Aging, the Conservation Commission and the Historical Commission. Each Selectman is elected for a three-year term.

Town Moderator
The Moderator presides over all Town Meetings, appoints members to ten town boards and committees, including the Board of Appeals, the Personnel Board and the Warrant Committee. The Moderator is elected for a one-year term.

State Government
Massachusetts House of Representatives
The Town of Milton is represented in the House of Representatives by the 12th Suffolk, 14th Suffolk and 7th Norfolk Districts.
The 12th Suffolk District includes Precincts 1 and 3 of the Town of Milton. The 12th District is represented by Representative Linda Dorcena Forry (D).
The 14th Suffolk District includes Precincts 11 of the Town of Milton. The 14th District is represented by Representative Angelo M. Scaccia (D).
The 9th Norfolk District includes Precincts 2, and 4 to 10, inclusive, of the Town of Milton. The 7th District is represented by Representative Walter F. Timilty (D).
Massachusetts State Senate
The Town of Milton is represented in the Senate by the Norfolk, Bristol and Plymouth District.
The district consists of the towns of Avon, Braintree (precincts 1, 3, 4 and 5), Canton, Milton, Randolph, Sharon, (precincts 2 and 3) and Stoughton, in the county of Norfolk; Easton (precincts 3 to 6, inclusive), in the county of Bristol; and East Bridgewater (precinct 4), and West Bridgewater, in the county of Plymouth.
The Norfolk, Bristol and Plymouth District is represented by Senator Brian A. Joyce (D).
National Government
U.S. House of Representatives
The Town of Milton is represented in the U.S. House of Representatives by the 9th District of Massachusetts.
The district consists of towns located in Bristol, Norfolk, Plymouth and Suffolk counties. View a map of the district.
